Even so, going overseas can cause a considerable amount of stress. Leaving the comforts of home means encountering the great unknown. For the Japanese, the most apparent issue is communicating in a second language. However, various literature suggests that cultural understanding is essential when establishing goals. This paper will reflect on the summer program in August 2022. The results will assist in preparing future arrangements between The University of Fukuchiyama and Deakin University. Those findings can lessen the fears of taking groups in the future. The author assesses dormitory living and the misunderstandings that can occur in a homestay family. The findings suggest that knowledge about the process of seeing a doctor, currency exchange and legal differences between the two countries benefit all involved.
